Guest Info

What to expect on the water.

Where We Meet

Meeting location depends on which fishery we're running that day — Chuck will confirm the boat ramp the night before based on conditions and where the bite is.

What We Provide

Rods, reels, tackle, bait, and a fully-rigged bass boat — Yamaha-powered, Power-Pole anchored, Humminbird and Minn Kota rigged. Some of Chuck's hand-built custom rods are usually in the rotation too.

What To Bring

Florida fishing license (16+), food, drinks (small cooler is fine), sunscreen, hat, polarized sunglasses, and weather-appropriate layers. We supply everything else.

Common Questions

Before you book.

What's the price and what's included?

$500 for a 4-hour trip or $600 for a 6-hour trip. Both rates include two anglers, the boat, gear, tackle, bait, and the captain's expertise. Each additional angler is $100. Food, drinks, sunscreen, and your Florida fishing license are not included.

Where do you fish?

The St. Johns River, Rodman Reservoir, Orange Lake, Lochloosa Lake, and the Santa Fe River. Chuck will pick the right water based on conditions and where the bite is firing that week.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes — anyone 16 and older needs a Florida freshwater fishing license. You can grab one online from FWC's GoOutdoorsFlorida site in a few minutes before your trip.

Are kids welcome? Are first-timers welcome?

Absolutely both. We're a family-oriented Christian guide service — a lot of our trips are families and first-timers. Chuck is a patient teacher and will adjust the day to whoever's on the boat.

How many people can fit on the boat?

The base rate covers two anglers; we can comfortably take additional people for $100 per person. If you've got a larger group, get in touch and we'll work out the right setup.

What about deposits and cancellations?

Contact us when you book — we'll walk you through deposit, cancellation, and reschedule policies. We try to be flexible when weather or life intervenes.

What if it rains?

Light rain — we usually fish through it. Lightning, severe weather, or unsafe conditions — we reschedule. Captain's call, made the morning of with safety in mind.

Do you keep the fish or release?

That's up to you. Florida regulations apply on size and bag limits. Most of our trophy fish go back to fight another day, but we'll help you decide on the boat.

Do you accept tips?

Tips are appreciated but never expected. If you had a great day and want to take care of your captain, that's always welcome — but the trip rate is the trip rate.

What's the best time of year to fish?

The St. Johns produces year-round, but the spawn (typically January–March on these waters) is when trophy potential peaks. Fall and early winter are also excellent. Summer trips are usually early morning to beat the heat.
